
Bernice Wallace (nee Krueger), age 90, of Plymouth, WI, passed away peacefully at Oak Creek Assisted
Living in Kiel on Saturday, December 11, 2021.
She was born on November 29, 1931 in Manitowoc, WI, a daughter of the late Daniel Sr. and Olive
(Svetlik) Krueger.
Bernice graduated from Waldo High School and went on to earn her teaching degree at Marian
University in Fond du Lac.
On January 23, 1954, she married Vernon Wallace in Sheboygan, WI. Vernon preceded her in death on
September 10, 1992.
Bernice taught at Waldo Grade School, Hingham Grade School and retired from teaching at Oostburg
Grade School. She loved teaching and her students to this day say how she was the best teacher.
Bernice was a very giving person and would put other people’s needs before her own. She enjoyed
spending time with her children and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She truly was
the best Mom!
Survivors include her two daughters: Diane Wallace (fiancé: Kurt Fritz) of Plymouth and Chris (Rick)
Gillman of Plymouth; three grandsons: Jeremy Hendricks of Plymouth, Jason (Kristi) Gillman of Elkhart
Lake, and Kyle (Amy) Gillman of Glendale; four great-grandchildren: Ariana Hendricks, Haleigh Lettau-
Gillman, Felicity, and Cora Hendricks; six sisters: Lorraine Stahl of Plymouth, Marilyn (Jim) Carpenter of
Plymouth, Irene Boeslager of Mt. Pleasant, LaVerne Czarniecki of Plymouth, Geraldine Dessloch of
Plymouth, and Barb (Lee) Pozun; and sister-in-law, Linda Krueger of Plymouth.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter: Debbie Hendricks; son: David “Wally”
Wallace; three brothers: Daniel Krueger Jr., Russell Krueger, Milton Krueger; five brothers-in-law: LeRoy
Stahl, Jack Boeslager, Harry Czarniecki, Richard Dessloch, Chuck Wallace; sister-in-law: Sandi Krueger;
and many other relatives.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 19 th , at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Pastor Dale Miller, of Salem Plankroad
UCC will officiate. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Bernice’s name.
