The weather turned deadly Monday morning when winds blew over a tree in Sheboygan Falls.
The Sheboygan Fall Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to an apartment complex at 915 Broadway Street in the City of Sheboygan Falls at about 6:45 a.m. Monday after a resident reported that a large tree fell on an outdoor pavilion. Two women were inside when the tree fell, and initial reports indicate that both were trapped.
By the time first responder arrived, one of them – a 69-year-old resident – freed herself and she was treated for minor injuries at the scene. The second woman, a 73-year-old resident, was pronounced dead at the scene from her injuries.
A total of three vehicles in the parking lot were damaged, two of them substantially. The names of the victims are being withheld pending full family notification.
