Yet another new high mark for the number of active COVID-19 cases in Sheboygan County this year was noted in Thursday’s data from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. 1,054 cases are now being monitored, 23 more than on Wednesday. 79 more positive tests were received in the last day, raising the total number of cases during the pandemic to 19,214, while 56 more persons recovered since Wednesday.
Two new admissions for hospital treatment were recorded in the last day, while two more patients were discharged, keeping the current patient count at 32. 964 persons in all have needed hospitalization here during the pandemic.
Sheboygan County remains in a “high” level of community transmission. In the last 7 days, the rate of new cases per 100,000 population was measured at 473.38. That is a drop of some 45 points in the last day, and the percent of tests returning positive in the last week’s time also lowered by 1 percentage point to 13.16%.
58 more persons received their first shot of vaccine in the last day, raising that total to 66,660, or 57.8% of the county population. 47 more persons completed their series, becoming fully vaccinated. That raises the total to 63,621, or 55.2% of the population.
