The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports that 85,860 deer were taken so far during the opening days of the 9-day gun deer season in Wisconsin. That’s about 14,000 fewer than opening weekend last year.
In Sheboygan County, the preliminary count shows 376 antlered, and 364 antlerless deer, for a total take of 740. Along with those taken during previous seasons, which include archery, crossbow and youth hunts, 1,657 deer have been registered this year in Sheboygan County.
