The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County recorded what has become an expected Monday drop compared to the preceding Friday. 3 days ago that number was at 995, and by Monday the active case count dropped to 901. Since Friday, 73 new positive tests were logged, while at the same time recoveries increased by 167, resulting in a net drop of 94. In all, 18,340 cases have been recorded during the pandemic in Sheboygan County.
Seven more persons needed hospitalizations since Friday, upping the total having needed treatment to 932, but with 7 discharges the patient load remained stable at 35.
The level of community transmission in Sheboygan County is rated “High”, with a rate of 535.81 cases per 100,000 persons over the last 7 days. That’s an increase of around 8% over the weekend. The percent of tests returning positive for COVID-19 over the last 7 days was 13.99%, up about a half percent from Friday.
Last week, 709 vaccinations were administered in Sheboygan County. The number having received at least one shot amounts to 66,251, an increase of 120 since Friday and equating to 57.4% of the population. 54.8%, or 63,221 are fully vaccinated, up 356 from the figure reported on Friday. Figures do not yet integrate the shots given to persons 5-11 years old, as the Wisconsin DHS is continuing to work on that process.
The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health on Monday announced that there will be only three data updates this week, allowing for the observance of the Thanksgiving holiday this coming Thursday through Sunday. Updates will resume on Monday, November 29th.
