The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development was out with updated employment statistics on Friday, reporting that Sheboygan County’s unemployment rate dropped again in September.
While the labor force shrank by 1,064 since August to 63,286, the number of employed declined by 605, leading to an unemployment rate of 2.8% in September, down from 3.2% in August. 1,747 were considered unemployed in Sheboygan County during that month, 331 fewer than in August.
The county with the lowest unemployment rate in Wisconsin during September was Lafayette County at 2.2%, while the highest rate was found in Menominee County, where 8% of the labor force was without jobs.
