(WHBL) – The top Republican in the State Assembly is demanding an explanation from UW-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank about mandatory classes on white privilege on campus.
Speaker Robin Vos sent a letter to the chancellor on Tuesday, asking about a class for graduate students that he says teaches that white people are privileged. The class is UW-Madison’s Graduate and Professional Students Preventing and Responding to Sexual and Relationship Violence course.
Vos wants to know why students are required to take the class, and whether undergrad students are required to take a similar class. He told Chancellor Blank that he wants to know ‘why the university finds this practice acceptable.’
