Steven Lee Velasquez, age 64, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully late Monday evening on
November 8, 2021, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, WI.
Steve was born on May 13, 1957, to LeRoy and Jane (Sonnenfeld) Velasquez in Sheboygan.
Growing up, Steve lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for 10 years with his family. While
there, he attended and graduated from Palmer High School in 1976. Later, after moving back to
Sheboygan, he worked for American Orthodontics. Steve was an avid collector of many things
throughout his life. He had music and movie collections, and, as a big Packers fan, had a great
deal of Packers memorabilia. In addition, he had large collections of coins, stamps, troll dolls,
and mice figurines. His biggest collection, though, was his Avon bottle collection. Steve had
one of the largest collections in the state. Steve was also very fascinated with the weather, kept
track of daily reports and forecasts, and absolutely loved watching storms. He was a friendly,
loving guy who enjoyed trading hugs, and everyone he met couldn’t help but like him.
Steve will be remembered by his mother, Jane; brothers, David and Scott (Andrea) Velasquez;
sister, Kathleen Adema; nieces and nephews, Amy Andrews, Benjamin Adema, Amberly
Velasquez, and Ashley Velasquez; great-nephew, Oliver; aunts and uncles; and other relatives
and friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy, who passed away nearly one year ago on
November 10, 2020.
A funeral service will be held for Steven at Ballhorn Chapels on Monday, November 22, 2021, at
1:00 PM with Pastor Alan Kretschmar of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Steven's funeral
services will be viewable at www.ballhornchapels.com on Steven’s obituary page.
A public visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 12:00PM-1:00 PM at
Ballhorn Chapels (1201 N 8th St, Sheboygan, WI 53081) followed by the service from 1:00PM-
1:30PM. Lunch will be served at Ballhorn Chapels from 1:30PM-2:30PM preceding the
Interment for anyone who would like to attend.
