Robert J. Meerdink, 73, of Cedar Grove died on Monday, November 15, 2021, at St Nicholas
Hospital Hospice.
Robert was born on January 17, 1948, in Sheboygan, the son of the late Arthur and Anna
(Weakamp) Meerdink. He was a graduate of Oostburg Christian School and Oostburg High
School with the Class of 1966. On June 22, 1973, he married the former Pat TenHaken in
Sheboygan.
Robert worked at the J.M. Bruce Foundry for over 30 years, and the Kohler Co. for five years
before his retirement in 2008. Following his retirement, he worked for the Cedar Grove-
Belgium Schools doing janitorial work.
Robert attended Grace Bible Fellowship in Oostburg and enjoyed gardening, reading, music,
traveling and spending time outdoors.
Robert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pat; a daughter, Michelle (Jim) Weiland of Belgium;
two sons, Benjamin (Jennifer) Meerdink of Cedar Grove, and Cori (Lisa) Meerdink of Charleston,
SC, six grandchildren; two sisters, Marianne Jensema and Audrey (Howard) Voskuil, both of
Oostburg; and two brothers, James (Dawn) Meerdink of Random Lake and Philip (Donna)
Meerdink of Oostburg.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Ronald Jensema.
A memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life will take place at Grace Bible Fellowship in
Oostburg on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 1 pm with the Rev. Wayne DeVrou officiating. A
time of fellowship will follow the service.
