Blunt force trauma and head injuries are blamed for the death of an Illinois man in Manitowoc County Monday morning.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff reports that at around 8:15AM a 70-year-old Tinley Park, Illinois man exited southbound I-43 at County Road “K” northwest of Francis Creek and failed to stop at the bottom of the off-ramp. His pickup truck was struck by a heavy-duty Sterling truck being driven eastbound on “K” by a 67-year-old Whitelaw area man, who was not injured. The Illinois man was pronounced dead at the scene. That accident remains under investigation.
