For the eighth consecutive week, the number of active COVID-19 cases reported by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health in its Monday update took a drop compared to the preceding Friday. On the following Tuesday in each of those eight weeks, the number increased once again.
On Friday there were 837 active cases being monitored in Sheboygan County. As of Monday, that number was down to 765. 88 new positive tests were offset by 142 recoveries, dropping the active cases by 72. 17,897 cases in all have been recorded here during the pandemic.
While 4 persons were admitted to hospitals for treatment of COVID-19 over the weekend, 7 were discharged, leaving 26 patients hospitalized, 3 fewer than on Friday. 913 patients in all have needed treatment for their symptoms.
Sheboygan County’s level of transmission remains “high”, with a case rate of 443.04 per 100,000 population, up from Friday’s 413.56. 12.87% of tests in the last 7 days have come back positive, up from Friday’s 11.73%.
Vaccination data for Sheboygan County is made available through the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, which has not updated its figures since Friday, November 5th. This is due to error corrections being made by Walgreens in several states including Wisconsin. As a result of those measures some individuals who have received vaccinations through Walgreens will not be able to access their COVID-19 registration records through the Wisconsin Immunization Registry. In that case, affected individuals should contact their local Walgreens pharmacy, or access their records via the Walgreens website or mobile app.
The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health will be hosting a vaccine clinic for children ages 5-11 every Tuesday starting November 16th from 2-7 PM at the Health and Human Service building on North 8th Street across from Fountain Park. Signup is required, and can be made through this link.
