As the year’s end approaches, so ends construction season, bringing to completion several major projects in the area.
The Wisconsin DOT made it official on Friday – the 11-1/2 mile Highway 67 reconstruction between Plymouth and Kiel is now complete. The agency said that the resurfacing provides a smoother drive and reduces future maintenance cost for the highway, while also extending the useable lifespan of the highway, bridge, and culverts. New beamguard, signing and pavement markings also provide safety enhancements for motorists.
Meanwhile the DOT says that the rural section of the Highway 23 expansion in Fond du Lac County is expected to finish this week with only some project clean up and finishing work remaining, along with a one-lane reduction at the County G interchange for slope repairs. While that year-and-a-half project will now be complete, it will take until fall of 2022 to finish the urban section in the City of Fond du Lac between US 151 and Seven Hills Road.
