OOSTBURG, Wis. (WHBL) – Part of I-43 had to be shut down Thursday night after a crash between a car and an armored truck. The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department responded around 10:15 to the crash that happened a mile south of Highway V in the Town of Wilson.
Deputies say a car was seen traveling southbound at over 100 miles per hour, and slammed into the back of a Garda Armored Truck.
The car ended up in the median, and Life Net was dispatched to airlift the 24 year old driver to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee for life-threatening injuries. Occupants of the Garda truck were not injured. Speed and impairment were factors in the crash.
