When data was released late on Tuesday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, the Coronavirus Case Dashboard displayed a now familiar pattern. For the eighth consecutive week the number of active cases rose significantly on Tuesday, and for the sixth time in a row, that followed a drop on Monday compared to Friday.
On Tuesday 663 active cases were being monitored by the County DPH, up 74 from Monday’s figure. 123 new positive tests were recorded, while 49 recoveries were logged in the past day. A total of 17,159 cases have now been recorded here during the pandemic.
Hospitalizations rose once again to 23 patients, matching the high mark for the year previously set on October 8th. There were 11 patients admitted since Monday along with 10 discharges, and 879 patients in all have been seen in Sheboygan County.
The County’s level of community transmission is “high”, with a case rate of 329.46 per 100,000 persons when averaged over the last 7 days. That’s down slightly from Monday. The 12.82% average rate of positive tests for the past week was up a half percent from Monday.
Vaccination Data from the State DPH had not been reported since Friday, but on Tuesday showed that 557 doses were administered the previous week in Sheboygan County. 56.5% of the county population, or 65,127 persons, have received at least one shot, while 54.1%, or 62.429, are now fully immunized. Those are increases of 158 with one dose, and 292 fully immunized since Friday in Sheboygan County.
