With much attention being paid to the Centers for Disease Control approving the Pfizer vaccine for younger children, those shots are not yet available through Sheboygan County.
The County Division of Public Health said that it’s waiting for further guidance from the CDC and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services before starting the rollout and providing the shots to children from 5 to 11 years old.
As of the latest update from the State DHS, 43-1/2% of children ages 12-15 in Sheboygan County have already received at least one dose, while those 16 and 17 have a 48.4% rate of first shots. More than 64% of Sheboygan County adults over age 18 are now fully vaccinated, with those 65 and older showing the highest rate at 84.6%.
