Marion Johnston, 95, passed away Sunday morning, October
31, 2021 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls
where she had been residing for the past 11 years.
Marion was born May 24, 1926 in the town of Lima, the
daughter of Lester and Hazel (nee Heideman) Rauwerdink. She
graduated from Waldo High School in 1943 and went on to
study at Sheboygan Business College.
Marion worked for many years in clerical positions for Badger
Freightways, Gross Common Carriers, and Van Wyk Inc.
A lifelong member of Hingham Church, Marion also served as a
Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed traveling, hiking, reading
and doing puzzles.
Marion is survived by her children: Susan Smith of Sheboygan
Falls, Linda (Larry) Lorenz of Sheboygan Falls and Michael
(fiancé Diane Bogenschuetz) Johnston of Sheboygan. She is
further survived by daughter-in-law Betty Johnston of Cascade;
grandchildren: Daniel Johnston, Christopher Johnston, Crystal
(Gareth) Johnson, Joshua Lorenz and Jessica (Josh) Busch; two
great-grandchildren, Hudsyn & Suttyn Busch; brothers, Roger
(Marilyn) Rauwerdink of Waldo and David (Karen) Rauwerdink
of Estes Park, CO; sister-in-law, Kathy Rauwerdink of Oostburg,
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Douglas; sister, Edith
(William) VanWyk; brothers, Leon Rauwerdink, and Warren
Rauwerdink; and sister-in-law, Muriel Rauwerdink.
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, November 4, 2021
at Hingham Church at 11am with Pastor Barrett Marcantel
officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Thursday
from 10am until the time of service at 11am. Marion will be laid
to rest at Hingham Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Hingham Church.
