The need for warm winter wear in the Sheboygan Area is expected to increase this year, but donations of coats for those in need have so far decreased. And so the Sheboygan Salvation Army is extending a call for donations in advance of their Coats for Kids distribution next week.
Donations are being accepted through 4 PM Monday at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home on South 12th Street, a co-sponsor of the event.
Because of health and safety precautions, only new coats are being accepted this year and the greatest need is for children’s’ coats and for larger sized adults.
Distribution will be made in a pop-up shop at the Salvation Army’s previous thrift store location at 1029 Michigan Avenue next week Thursday between 3 and 6 PM, and Friday from 9 until noon.
