56 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed through tests in Sheboygan County since Thursday. The County Division of Pubic Health’s Coronavirus Case Dashboard on Friday showed a total of 16,975 cases of COVID-19 so far in Sheboygan County. At the same time 83 persons recovered, and the number of active cases reported on Friday fell to 678, 27 fewer than on Thursday. Friday’s active case count represents the third consecutive day of decline, but is still higher than when the week began.
Hospitalizations one week ago stood at 15; today, one week later, that was 20. 5 persons were admitted since Thursday, while three were discharged.
The level of community transmission in Sheboygan County is considered “high”, as it has been since the first week in August. In the last 7 days, the total number of new cases for a population of 100,000 was 320.79, little changed from Thursday. An average of 11.87% conducted daily over the last 7 days returned positive results, down from 12.14% on Thursday
56.3% of Sheboygan County’s population has received at least one shot of vaccine as of Friday morning. That amounts to 64,969 persons. 62,137, or 53.9%, are fully vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 Virus.
