The worker shortage that’s affecting so many businesses has hit Sheboygan’s Shoreline Metro where it hurts – in the seat. The driver’s seat, actually, as a shortage of drivers has forced the city’s transit system to cut service. This follows months of campaigning to recruit new drivers, but without enough response to maintain the full schedules.
Parking and Transit Director Derek Muench says that beginning November 8th, half-hourly fixed routes will run Monday through Friday between 5:15 and 8:45 AM, then an hourly schedule with no shuttle service until 1:45 PM when shuttles and half-hourly schedules resume until 5:45 PM. Sheboygan routes on Saturdays will run hourly without shuttles between 8:45 and 3:45 with shuttles after that.
For Paratransit Service users, schedules will run weekdays 5:15 AM to 5:45 PM, and Saturdays between 8:45 and 3:45, including on-demand runs to Falls and Kohler.
