Margaret Sullivan, age 79, of Plymouth, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on Friday,
October 22, 2021 after a heroic fight with pancreatic cancer. Margaret was born on January 6, 1942 to
Albert and Margaret Olson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the 5 th of 8 children. In 1958, Margaret
met and eventually married her first love, Jesse Hunt. Together they started a family, having a total of 6
children. And although their marriage eventually dissolved, the two remained friends until his death in
1969. Margaret met her second husband, Desmond Sullivan, who also had a child. They married in
1970 and moved to Plymouth, eventually having two more children together. But even as a young
mother, just 30 years old, with 9 children, Margaret sought to do more.
The Catholic Church was a central part of Margaret’s life and encouraged her to act on her passion to
serve people. Stranger or friend, saint or sinner, Margaret loved everyone with both compassion and
generosity.
She belonged to countless charities over the past 50 years, receiving several stewardship awards for her
service to the community including the Carol Award and Mother of the Year.
Margaret’s commitment to these charities was nothing compared to the charity she shared with those
who knew her. It was Margaret’s own love that drove her to reach out and help the homeless, the
hungry, the imprisoned and the sick. She devoted her life to caring for others without hesitation or
concern for herself. As a mom, grandmother, sister or friend, Margaret was a role model of love.
Margaret is survived by 8 of her children: Debra (Robert) Horness of Waldo, Jim Hunt of New Hope, MN,
Jessica (Jim) DePagter of Plymouth, Ann (Kathy) Hunt of Iola, Robert (Joni) Hunt of New Hope, MN, Sue
(Dale) Passehl of Sparta, Margaret (Gary) Ausloos of Plymouth, Mary (David) Wagner of Sheboygan Falls.
She is further survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly (Don) Almquist of Greenfield; brother,
Richert (LuAnn) Olson of Sheboygan; brother, Cliffert and his friend Sharon of Kansasville. Finally
Margaret is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her son and his wife, James (Ruth) Sullivan of Plymouth, both of her
parents, Albert and Margaret Olson of Milwaukee; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Ray) Curtis of
Germantown, VA; Three brothers and two of their wives, Albert (Gayle) Olson of New Berlin, Robert
(Becky) of Hanover, CA and Wilbert Olson of Franklin; two sisters-in-law, Judy Olson and Cindy Olson and

The family would like to thank everyone who took the time to visit, play cards, call, and send food while
she was homebound. Your love and kindness was truly appreciated by her.
