Thursday’s bi-weekly update of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health had little in the way of direction to the progress fighting COVID-19.
718 active cases were being monitored by the DPH, 12 more than on Wednesday. So far this week we’ve averaged 712.5 active cases per day. 16,561 cases in all have been recorded here during the pandemic. The 44 recoveries were outnumbered by the 56 confirmed positives received since Wednesday.
Hospitalizations were steady at 13 patients, with three new admissions balanced by 3 discharges.
The level of community transmission in Sheboygan County is “high”, with a case load of 251.43 per 100,000 persons, and a 9.49% test positivity rate, down from Wednesday’s 10.05%.
The percent of the county population having received at least one dose of vaccine has reached an even 56%, amounting to 64,600 persons – 83 more than on Wednesday. 61,956, or 53.7%, are fully vaccinated – an increase of 65 in the last day.
