Except for what may have been a statistical adjustment in deaths to begin this past week, trends of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in Sheboygan County have shown little movement.
The past week has averaged 748 active cases for the five weekdays reported. That compares with an average of 741.2 the week previous. Hospital admissions did show an upward trend this week, averaging 5.8 new patients per day compared with 3.8 the previous week. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services indicates that Sheboygan County continues to show no significant change in community transmission and case rates over the past two weeks. And after 10 deaths were added on Monday, another was added on Wednesday raising the toll to 167.
On Friday, 743 active cases were logged by the County DPH, 19 fewer than on Thursday. That, as 41 new confirmed cases were balanced against 60 recoveries. A total of 16,340 cases have been recorded in Sheboygan County during the pandemic.
As 3 new patients were admitted to hospitals, 4 were discharged, and the patient population is now 15.
Vaccination data had not been updated at the time of publication. As of Thursday, 64,266 persons in Sheboygan County, or 55.7%, had received at least one dose of vaccine, while 61,766, or 53.6%, were fully vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
