Beverly Lawrenz, 86, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday evening, October 13, 2021 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Born August 10, 1935, Beverly was a daughter of the late Leonard and Chrystal Becker Gort. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from central High School in 1954. On June 26, 1954, she was united in marriage to Robert W. Lawrenz at Bethel Baptist Church.
Beverly worked as a cashier at Pick N Save for many years. She previously worked at the Johnsonville Meat Market. She was a member of Hope Strict Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren but especially loved welcoming all children into their home.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert; her children, Susan (Bryan) Casper, Kiel, Sandra (Chuck) Kiehl, Sheboygan, and Scott Lawrenz,Sheboygan; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Lawrenz; her five grandchildren, Kayla (Mike) Sielaff, Adell, Michael Casper, Kiel, Thomas (Sasha) Casper, Madison, Cherish (Gary) Klumb, Sheboygan, and Chrystal Kiehl, Sheboygan; five great grandchildren, Jordan and Travis Sielaff, Mckayla Klumb, and Lucina and Elias Casper; her brother, Ted Gort, Sheboygan; her sister, Hannah (Don) Wierzbach; her sisters-in-law, Carol Gort, Sheboygan Falls, and Nona Miller, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Lawrenz, her brothers Jack and Leonard Gort, her brother-in-law, Richard Lawrenz, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Thurston.
Funeral services for Beverly will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Hope Strict Baptist Church, 1803 Georgia Avenue. Family and friends are welcome at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 132 Superior Ave on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Trinitarian Bible Society, the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
