The new lanes are open, but older sections of Highway 23 in Sheboygan County still need maintenance, and the Wisconsin DOT will be taking care of one stretch this week.
Crews are repairing pavement on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of 23 between the Sheboygan River and County Road “TT” near the Sheboygan County Memorial Airport. Work began late last week, and one lane of the 4-lane roadway will be closed continuously during repairs. Schedules are weather-dependent, and although the project is scheduled to wrap up this coming Thursday, a rainy forecast could extend the work schedule.
