The number of active COVID-19 cases monitored this week by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health has seen wide fluctuations, but one constant in the numbers is the increasing percentage of positive tests averaged over a 7-day period. That figure was 9.76% on Monday, and by Thursday had risen to 11.26% of all tests administered.
Since Monday’s semi-weekly update from the DPH, 213 new cases were added, 50 of those in the last day, and 15,984 cases have been tallied in Sheboygan County since the beginning of the pandemic. With 63 recoveries since Wednesday, the active case count dropped 13 to 765.
Total hospitalizations since Monday were up by 13. Six were admitted and 4 were discharged since Wednesday, raising the patient population two to 17. So far, 799 persons have required hospitalization for COVID-19 symptoms.
99 more county residents received their first dose of vaccine since Wednesday, raising to 63,954 the number so treated. That’s 55.4% of the county population. 53.2%, or 61,351, have completed their series, up 155 from yesterday.
