A Random Lake area man has been re-elected to the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board. Steve Wilkins, a Silver Creek grain farmer and agronomy manager with the ag company Syngenta, was re-elected to represent the 6th District of the board, which encompasses Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Ozaukee, Washington and five other southeastern Wisconsin counties.
This will be Wilkins’ third consecutive three-year term on the board, which oversees the collection and use of about $2 million in assessment fees paid by Wisconsin soybean producers. The board uses those funds to support the soybean industry through research, education, and promotion of Wisconsin-grown soybeans.
