The first death attributed to COVID-19 in Sheboygan County since September 14th was reported on the updated dashboard of the Division of Public Health on Wednesday. The latest resident to fall victim to the coronavirus, the 156th overall, was in their 70s, the 39th of that age group in Sheboygan County. Of the other casualties seventy-nine were 80 or older, twenty-three were in their 60s, six were in their 50s, five were in their 40s, three were in their 30s and one was between 10 and 19 years old.
38 new confirmed positives were recorded on Wednesday, while there were 14 recoveries, upping the active case count by 23 to a total of 778 now being monitored, the most since January 12th when there were 798 active cases of COVID-19. While 3 persons were admitted to hospitals, three were discharged, leaving a stable patient population of 15. 793 Sheboygan County residents have required hospitalization at some time during the pandemic.
52 doses of vaccine were administered to first-time recipients in Sheboygan County since Tuesday’s tabulation, raising to 63,855 persons, or 55.4% of the County population having received at least one dose. 64 persons joined the ranks of those fully immunized since Tuesday. That raises the total to 61,196, or 53.1% of the County’s population.
