LeRoy O. “Butch” Baumann, 92, of Sheboygan went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday,
September 27, 2021. LeRoy was born on August 1, 1929, in Sheboygan to Otto and Jennie
(Kaat) Baumann.
LeRoy attended local schools and was united in marriage to Audrey Gruber, on May 24, 1950.
Together they raised three children: Don Baumann, Barb (Jim) Trautman, and Laurie (Craig
Steffen) Fox all of Sheboygan. A light went out for LeRoy, with the passing of his loving wife
Audrey, on November 24, 1971. He later married Mary Munnik, on March 31, 1973. They
enjoyed 36 years of marriage before her passing on June 12, 2009.
LeRoy was a lifetime member of the Netherland Reformed Congregation Church in Sheboygan.
LeRoy was well-known in Sheboygan, for his gift of growing superb vegetables. Together with
his uncle, Peter Kaat, they grew produce for the local supermarkets as well as for private
residents. LeRoy taught his children great work ethic, by involving them in the family business.
LeRoy was enthusiastic for life and loved the great outdoors, which included tending to his well-
stocked pond, fishing and hunting. He shared his love of music with others and would sing and
play his harmonica’s. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and surrounding
himself with friends and neighbors.
LeRoy is further survived by his grandchildren: Christina (John) Entringer of Howards Grove,
Tracy Rosenstein of Hales Corners, Barry (Starla) Baumann of Sheboygan, Brian Baumann of
Portland, OR. He is further blessed with his great-grandchildren: Ethan and Kendall Entringer of
Howards Grove, Owen and Reese Rosenstein of Hales Corners, Ryder Bauman of Portland, OR,
and Braydon and Delaney Bauman of Sheboygan. Sisters, Joyce Van Der Puy and Carol (Jack)
Schroeder both of Sheboygan. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews’ other relatives
and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Audrey and Mary, brothers: Alfred
(Charmaine) Baumann, Art (Irene) Baumann, William (Beatie) Baumann, and Don Baumann,
sisters: Lorraine Baumann and Viola (Wesley) Koran, daughter-in-law Lynsey Baumann and his
brother-in-law Wilbert Van Der Puy.
A private family service will be held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Pine Haven Christian Home for their
compassion and loving care, and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their care and
support.
LeRoy will be sadly missed by his family and friends who lovingly referred to him as Butch.
