LOS ANGELES, CA (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers are heading into the postseason on the heels of a 1-5 road trip after Sunday’s 10-3 loss to the Dodgers, who swept the Brewers out of Los Angeles.
Avisail Garcia gave Milwaukee a brief 1-0 lead with a fourth-inning double that brought home Rowdy Tellez. The Dodgers countered with a six-run fifth inning to go ahead for good.
Milwaukee managed to get two back in the 8th on RBI doubles from Tellez and Eduardo Escobar.
Tellez was the only Brewer with multiple hits in the game. Willy Adames and Tyrone Taylor each recorded a double in the loss as well.
Milwaukee used eight different pitchers, starting with Brett Anderson who allowed one hit in the first. Jandel Gustave handled the next two innings and didn’t allow a hit or a walk while striking out two.
The Dodgers did the bulk of their damage off Aaron Ashby in the 5th. He was charged with all six runs that inning off of three hits and three walks.
Ashby was given both a blown save and the loss, dropping his record to 3-2 on the season. Walker Buehler picked up the win for LA.
The Brewers begin play in the NLDS Friday, hosting the Atlanta Braves at American Family Field.
