New cases of COVID-19 reported by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health outpaced recoveries once again, continuing a rising trend in disease activity here, one that is in line with statewide trends as presented by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ dashboard. Case activity is high, with a burden over the last two weeks of 560.6 cases per 100,000 persons. The 7-day test positivity was 9.3%. On a more positive note, the trajectory was downward by 20% over that same period.
There were 45 positive test returns versus 28 recoveries, and active cases now number 679, 17 more than on Tuesday. Hospitalizations were up by two, to 12 patients.
At least 53 more persons received their first shot of vaccine, raising to 63,576 the number in Sheboygan County, or 55.1% with at least one shot. 67 more persons claimed full vaccination status, raising that number to 60,721, or 52.6% being fully vaccinated.
