
Bonnie M. Hartmann, age 83, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully Thursday (September
2, 2021) at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility in Plymouth.
She was born on December 11, 1937 in Plymouth, WI, a daughter of the late Walter and
Mathilda (Bunzel) Helmke.
Bonnie attended Plymouth area schools. She married Jerome Rosche in August, 1955.
The couple had five children. They worked the family farm for approximately 15 years
before divorcing.
On May 20, 1973 she married David Hartmann. The couple has resided in the Plymouth
area since their marriage.
Bonnie loved children and drove school bus for eighteen years; worked at Masters
Gallery for nine years and at Sun Graphics for eleven years. For a brief period of time,
She drove an armored (Security) vehicle.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade.
Bonnie enjoyed flower gardening, crafting (especially cross-stitching) and her baking
talents were enjoyed by many. She was an avid reader. Bonnie enjoyed doing crossword
puzzles and was fond of miniature schnauzer dogs. For seven years she volunteered to
make birthday favors for St. Paul Lutheran Altar Guild to be given monthly to residents
of Rocky Knoll.
Survivors include her husband David of Plymouth; Four sons: Lawrence A. (Martha)
Rosche of Plymouth, Gary A. Rosche of Greenbush (special friend Lynn Beyer), Daryl
A. (Yvonne) Rosche of Hewitt, WI, Gerald A. “Joe” (Tricia) Rosche of Kaukauna;
One daughter: Therese L. Schwab of Rural Cedar Grove (special friend Alan Zimmer);
Two step-sons: David W. (Laurie) Hartmann of Sheboygan and Paul W. Hartmann of
Lovelock, NV; One step-daughter: Heather (Jim) Shearer of Winnemucca, NV; Six
grandchildren (BJ, Brenda, Scott, Benjamin, Kristin and Heather); Seven Great
Grandchildren (Jemma, Myles, Evan, Penny, Blake, Isabelle and Amelia) Five Step-
grandchildren (Crystal, Amanda, Tanya, Heather and Shawn); Two brothers: James (Jill)
Helmke of Plymouth and William (Laurie) Helmke of Plymouth; and two sisters-in-law:
Barbara Helmke of Denver, CO and Elaine (Jim) Kirby of Mount Hood, OR.
Bonnie is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: John “Jack” Helmke and Robert Helmke and
one niece.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning (September 15, 2021) at 11:30
A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cascade. Rev. Richard Bidinger, Pastor of the
Church will officiate. Entombment will be in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum in the
Town of Sheboygan.
Friends may call at the CHURCH on Wednesday morning (Sept. 15) from 9:30 A.M.
until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Bonnie’s name for the
Parkinson’s Foundation.

final journey in life.
