The Sheboygan County Fair opens today, returning after the COVID-19 pandemic caused its cancellation in 2020. This year’s event would have been the 170th year of the fair absent of last year’s interruption.
The first fair, in 1851, was held in Sheboygan Falls and moved several times before landing on its current site in Plymouth in 1897.
This year’s fair, which runs through Monday, September 6th, brings back the celebration of everything that is Sheboygan County in full-force, with young people and 4H-ers exhibiting their animals and crafts, pie and livestock auctions, carnival rides and midway, tractor pulls and car races…and of course, lots of food, often on a stick.
If you’re interested, you can get a season pass that includes parking for $35, or just walk in any day for $7 per adult or $2 for kids 10-14 years old.
