MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers avoided a sweep at the hands of the Minnesota Twins with a 6-2 win at Target Field on Sunday afternoon.
Luis Urias gave the Crew the lead with a solo home run in the 2nd inning. Rowdy Tellez followed that with a three-run shot in the 3rd inning to build the lead to 4-0.
Kolten Wong tacked on two more with a double in the 4th.
Wong, Yelich and Jackie Bradley Jr each recorded two hits in the game for the Brewers.
Aaron Ashby picked up his first win of the season in his first start for Milwaukee. He scattered three hits over five innings while allowing two runs.
Four relievers split up the final four innings to secure the win.
The Brewers now sit at 79-52 on the season with an eight and a half game lead on Cincinnati in the NL Central. They’ll head to the west coast for a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants.
