The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County rose to 405 on Thursday, as 59 new positive tests were received and 17 persons recovered, for a net gain of 42 actives. 8 cases currently require hospitalization, down one from Wednesday. Active cases are now the highest they’ve been since February 2nd when 435 cases were being monitored by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. Sheboygan County is now experiencing 127.16 cases per 100,000 persons according to data from the Wisconsin Hospital Association.
Facility-wide investigations more than doubled in the past week since last Thursday when 5 were underway. As of Thursday the 26th, six non-healthcare workplaces, four long-term care facilities and one “other” setting comprise the 11 investigations now active in Sheboygan County. The nursing homes here are Morningside Health Services, Rocky Knoll and Sheboygan Health Services.
Another 179 county residents received their first dose of vaccine since Wednesday morning, with 60,860 – or 52.8% – now having at least one shot. 57,568 persons, 171 more than on Wednesday, are now fully vaccinated, comprising 49.9% of the County’s population.
