MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers rallied from a 4-1 deficit late and beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-4 on Tuesday night at American Family Field.
The Brewers scored four times in the 7th and twice in the 8th to pull out the win and go 8 1/2 games up on the Reds in the Central Division.
Kolten Wong had three RBIs including a 2 run homer in the 8th inning. Avisail Garcia drove in two and Willy Adames, Christian Yelich and Omar Narvaez also had RBIs.
Corbin Burnes struggled through six innings giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks. Hunter Strickland picked up the win while Josh Hader logged his 27th save with a scoreless ninth.
Adames left the game in the first inning with left quadricep discomfort. He will be held out of Wednesday night’s game as a precaution. The Brewers also placed Eduardo Escobar on the 10 day IL with a hamstring problem. They recalled Pablo Reyes from AAA Nashville.
Milwaukee, now 77-49, will host the Reds again Wednesday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:35.
