Donald Cyril Dhein, 80, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born July 14, 1941 in Sheboygan, Donald was a son of the late Woodrow and Esther Summer Dhein. He attended Cleveland area schools and Central High School in Sheboygan. On April 4, 1959, he was united in marriage to Lois A. Mayer in Cleveland. They were married for 50 years before Lois preceded him in death on September 17, 2009.
Don was an operating engineer for Union 139 for 50 years. He enjoyed riding his trike motorcycle, making metal flowers and building trailers in his workshop.
He is survived by his two sons, Bruce (Debbie), rural Ada, and Scott, Manitowoc; his four grandchildren, Kaitlin, Colin, Alex and Nicole; his brothers, Ralph (Luellen) Dhein, Howards Grove, Jerry Dhein, Manitowoc, and Jim (Joyce) Dhein, Cedarburg; in-laws, Joan (John) Turba, New Holstein, Mary (Dick) Vande Hei, DePere, and Fred (Roxanne) Mayer, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and wife, Lois, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Fred and Cecelia Mayer, his sister-in-law, Trudy Dhein and Betty Schmidt, and a brother-in-law, Jim Buzaitis.
There will be a private family service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Donald’s arrangements.
