ST. LOUIS, MO (WHBL-WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers rallied for a 6-4 win in 10 innings over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night at Busch Stadium.
Milwaukee was down one with one out in the 9th when Avisail Garcia tied the game with his 2nd home run of the night.
The Brewers then scored three times with two outs in the 10th. One run scored on a wild pitch, another on an error and another on a bunt single by Christian Yelich.
St. Louis scored one in their half of the 10th but Devin Williams got out of the jam.
Garcia went 2-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Willy Adames also homered for the Crew.
Brewer starter Freddy Peralta left the game after batting in the 3rd inning. He has a shoulder issue but Peralta and the team are hoping it isn’t serious.
Josh Hader picked up the win, pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Williams picked up his 3rd save.
Paul Goldschmidt and Tyler O’Neill each picked up two hits and drove in a run for the Cardinals. Jack Flaherty gave up just two runs over six innings for St. Louis. Alex Reyes took the loss for the Cardinals,
The Brewers, now 74-47 and 9 1/2 games up on the Reds, will finish up their series with the Cardinals Thursday night. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6:10.
