PITTSBURGH, PA (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers pitching did the job again on Sunday in a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.
Christian Yelich had two doubles and an RBI for Milwaukee.
Eric Lauer pitched four innings, allowing one run on three hits with 6 strikeouts. The bullpen then pitched five scoreless innings, allowing only one hit.
Brent Suter, Jake Cousins, Brad Boxberger, Devin Williams and Josh Hader shut down the Pirates with Suter picking up his 12th win of the season and Hader getting his 23rd save.
The Brewers took two of three over the weekend and remain 8 games up on the Reds.
The Brewers are off Monday and will head to St. Louis to face the Cardinals in a three-game series starting Tuesday night.
