GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Menominee Falls Republican State Representative Janel Brandtjen is issuing subpoenas for election materials from Brown County and Milwaukee County as part of the Assembly Campaigns and Elections Committee’s investigation of the 2020 Election.
Brandtjen calls the subpoenas comprehensive and “top to bottom” and the first steps of a full forensic audit.
“Legislators have been hearing from thousands of disgruntled constituents regarding their concerns with the November 2020 election. From outside money pouring into Democrat-controlled communities, to individuals engaging in questionable activities; from improper guidance given to clerks from the Wisconsin Elections Commission, to clerks illegally prompting voters to declare themselves ‘indefinitely confined,’” Brandtjen said in a press release.
She also appeared on WTAQ’s ‘The Regular Joe Show” on Friday. You can hear that clip below.
It’s possible the subpoenas will go nowhere. In a June memo from the nonpartisan Wisconsin Legislative Council, they suggest the subpoenas may not be valid and that they would only be legal if signed by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos of Rochester or Assembly Chief Clerk Ted Blazel. That was first reported on by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
