John E. Jantz of Kohler, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on August 2nd at Memorial
Hospital in Sheboygan, Wisconsin where he had been a patient for several days.
John was born on April 27, 1930 in Caroline, Wisconsin, the son of Rudolph and Rachael
(Raddatz) Jantz. He attended school in Caroline and graduated from Marion High School
in 1948. After graduation he continued to work with his father in "Jantz's General
Store" in Caroline. In 1951, he was drafted into the United States Army and
subsequently served two years in the Korean Conflict being stationed in Mt. Fuji, Japan.
After completing his stint in the Army, he returned to Caroline and worked with his
father until he met the woman that would become his wife and the love of his life,
Margaret “Mary” Muth in Green Bay at a dance hall. They were united in marriage on
November 27, 1954 and have been together since. John then left the General Store for
a career with Standard Oil Company, which became Amoco and later BP Corporation.
He worked for the company for 36 years where he was the recipient of numerous sales
and performance awards. After his official retirement in 1989, he continued to work for
the company as a parttime employee until 1995 when he and Mary relocated to Kohler
to be closer to family.
During his retirement, he enjoyed long walks around the village with his dog, manicuring
his yard, attending Packer games and fishing trips to Lake Lucerne where he had been
fishing since the mid 70's. John is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary, their children
Joseph (Kathleen) Jantz, Margaret (Richard) Divarco, Elizabeth (James) Mitchell, and
Kristina (Nicholas) Casper. Surviving grandchildren include Mark R. Jantz, Michael J.
(Celeste) Jantz, Kathryn A. (Anton) Bogolin, Christopher R. (Samantha) Divarco, John N.
Mitchell, Robert W. Mitchell, Alyssa R. (Austin) Resop. He was also blessed with three
great grandchildren, Elijah, Mary and Felix Jantz.
Per John's wishes, a private family visitation at Good Sheperd will take place
on Saturday, August 7, 2021, beginning at 9:15 a.m. until the time of a service at 10:00
a.m. A private burial will be on the same day at approximately 1:00 p.m. at the Zion
Lutheran Cemetery in Caroline, Wisconsin. Memorial donations can be made on John's
behalf to Good Sheperd Lutheran Church, 1614 South 23 rd Street, Sheboygan, Wisconsin

A special heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff on the 2nd floor at Memorial Hospital
in Sheboygan for the warm and loving care they provided John during his brief stay as
well as to Pastor Christian Gugel for his support and friendship to John over the years.
