MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Eduardo Escobar had a triple and a three run homer with 4 RBIs to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday night at American Family Field. He also walked twice in his first game before the home fans in Milwaukee.
Kolten Wong and Tyrone Taylor had the other RBI’s for the Brewers.
Eric Lauer pitched five innings of three hit scoreless baseball for the win. Brent Suter and Daniel Norris followed with 3 scoreless innings before John Axford faltered in the 9th. The newest Brewer, celebrating his return to the majors, gave up two runs in 1/3 of an inning before leaving with an elbow issue. Bard Boxberger finished up for his 4th save.
Milwaukee is now 64-43, and are now up 7 1/2 games on the Reds. The Brewers and Pirates face off again Tuesday night with Adrian Houser getting the start for the Crew.
