Lightning was intense and there were some strong winds, but Sheboygan County was spared from the worst when a line of severe storms rolled through overnight.
Winds gusted to 41 mph at the Sheboygan County Airport around midnight, and crews were sent to restore power to something under 50 customers each in two locations – one north of Greenbush, and another west of Oostburg. And as for the predicted torrential rains…radar estimates show most of Sheboygan County averaging around a quarter of an inch.
Things were much worse elsewhere in Wisconsin, where some winds reached around 100 mph according to radar estimates, and several reports of tornadoes were yet to be confirmed. As of 5 this morning, WE Energies reported that over 43,000 customers across Wisconsin were still without power.
