A shortage of workers has forced Sheboygan’s public transit system to reduce its Harbor Centre Express trolley service. On Tuesday, Director of Transit & Parking Derek Muench announced that beginning Monday, August 2nd, trolley service will be limited to Thursdays and Fridays from 11 AM until 9 PM, and Saturdays from 11 till 6. That means no trolley service Mondays through Wednesdays.
The ongoing labor shortage makes it impossible to maintain reliable and dependable service on regular routes for one, according to Muench. Second, there’s the fact that some trolleys are out of service and can’t be repaired, something that Muench hopes will be addressed with the purchase of a new trolley in the near future.
