Russell “Rusty” Lee Maxey, 63, of Sheboygan, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday
morning on June 6, 2021, at his home.
Rusty was born on December 6, 1958, to Wayne and Josephine (Miller) Maxey in
Sheboygan. On April 30, 1983, he married the love of his life, Denise Matson, and they
welcomed an orange-headed baby boy who was the love of their life on May 7, 1989.
Rusty graduated from Sheboygan South High School with the class of 1977. After
graduation, he began working at the Austin Foundry and ran the furnaces there for nearly
45 years.
Rusty loved spending time in Minocqua, WI, with Denise and all of his friends. He also
enjoyed riding motorcycles and was very proud of his Harley. He was also an avid hunter
and loved spending time with Tyler and the grandkids near Oakfield, WI, on the hunting
land.
Rusty was a perfectionist – if you went over to his home, you would always see vacuum
lines and freshly cut grass. He was also a very proud grandfather.
Rusty will be dearly missed by his son, Tyler (Lacey); two biological grandchildren, Lucas
and Everly; three bonus grandchildren, Leo, Gabbie, and Enzo; brothers, Danny (Tammy)
and Travis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Elaine (Stahmann) Russell; sister-in-
law, Debbie (Ray) Brickner; brothers-in-law, Larry (Cindy) Matson and Lyle Matson
(Significant Other, Barb); close friends, Kevin (Ann), Adam (Toni), Roy (Lori) and Joanne;
he is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rusty is preceded in death by the love of his life, Denise, who passed on September 4,
2019. After the death of Denise, life was never the same for Rusty – she was his everything.
He is also preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Josephine; infant sister, Cindy
Maxey; brother, Gary Maxey; sister-in-law, Lynda Berg, brother-in-law, Jim Berg; and
nephew, Raymond Brickner IV.
A private funeral service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Ballhorn

Saying prayers for all Rusty’s family And for mine. He was a wonderful person always helping everyone. He was engaged to my sister Debbie Thiel and loved her with all his heart. He knew he was ready to move on after the loss of his wife Denise who he never forgot. Very hard to understand why he left. He had so many plan’s for his and Debbie’s future. So sorry for everyone!
