Andrew J. Florian, age 66, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully late Monday evening, on May 31, 2021.
Andy was born on November 10, 1954, to Andrew “Sparky” and Lucille (Karls) Florian in Sheboygan. He
attended grade school at Holy Name Catholic School and graduated from Sheboygan South High School
in the class of 1973. After high school graduation, Andy attended LTC and took classes in Law
Enforcement Studies. He worked for Mel Campbell Chrysler for several years before starting a 26 year-
long career with the Sheboygan County Sherriff’s Department as a 911 dispatcher.
Andy was a great storyteller, and would always end every tale by saying, “True Story!” He was very
proud of the cars he owned over his lifetime, especially the Presidential ‘Vette, which had a Nixon
approved presidential seal on the hood. “True Story”, really! He also had a love for his Harley Davidson
motorcycles and took many cross-country road trips. He was an avid fisherman, and his favorite fish to
catch was a great big muskie. He deer hunted mainly in Oconto County with Dave and Ron Hoffman. He
had many dogs over the years, all Yorkshire Terriers. Andy loved bowling and participated in the Miller
Lite Pro Am Tournament in Milwaukee – competing with a professional, Palmer Fallgren.
Andy’s favorite music was classic rock – especially Blue Oyster Cult. He was a loyal fan of the Packers and
Brewers and enjoyed going to their games. He loved food and was especially fond of a good steak.
Andy grew up as an only child but knew what it was like to have a brother because of Dave Hoffman.
Dave was also an only child, and these two grew up together and were raised like brothers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Lucille.
A short memorial service will be held for Andy at Ballhorn Chapels on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 7:00 PM.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to “Shop With A Cop” (Sheboygan County Law
Enforcement Association P.O. Box 1403 Sheboygan WI 53082-1403)
On behalf of Andy, thank you to the staff at the Waterford in Plymouth and the staff with Sharon S.
Richardson Community Hospice.
