Fred W. Krahenbuhl, 76, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at the Aurora
Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
Fred was born on January 25, 1945, to Mary Ann Michels. In 1967, Fred married Sylvia Herrick. They
were later divorced but remained close friends. Fred then met the love of his life, Paula Golabiewski,
and they spent many happy years together. Fred and Paula moved from Iowa to Wisconsin nearly 25
years ago. No one would have known that Fred wasn’t born and raised in Sheboygan – his vocabulary
didn’t include the word stranger. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and make it seem like
they have known each other for years.
Fred was a jack-of-(nearly) all trades. He was always doing something – whether it was fixing up things in
the yard, gardening, or woodworking. He loved watching NASCAR. He was a ‘foodie’ and would always
appreciate a tasty meal whether he made it or someone else did. In his younger years, he did a lot of
camping and fishing.
Fred will be missed by the love of his life, Paula; children, Shawn (Dean) Sorenson, Chad (Brenda)
Krahenbuhl, Les Gocha, Joshua (Rachel) Krahenbuhl, and Kristin Krahenbuhl; grandchildren, Brandy,
Samantha, Shawnda, Jesse, Jeremy, Michael, Paige, Brooke, Braxtin, Abigail, and Brayden; several great-
grandchildren; brothers, Russell, Charlie (Carol), and Jimmy; sister, Cindy (Doug) Vimpany; sisters-in-law,
Gladys “Tiny” Krahenbuhl and Frieda Krahenbuhl; a special niece who was like a daughter to Fred,
Shannon Leigh Krahenbuhl; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann; brothers, Lynn, Larry, Marty, and Allan; sister, Sue
Burke; and sister-in-law, Barbara Krahenbuhl.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Fred on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Zimmer-Westview
Funeral and Cremation Care Center. The service will be limited to family, but it will be livestreamed from
Fred’s obituary page on the funeral home’s website. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until the
time of the service. Please follow all Covid-19 guidelines including the wearing of face masks and social
distancing.
Please visit www.zimmerfuneralhome.com to leave a message of sympathy for the family.
