HOUSTON, TX (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Bucks lost in a shootout to the NBA’s worst Houston Rockets Thursday night 143-136.
The Bucks had no answer for Rockets shooting guard Kevin Porter Jr., who scored a career high 50 points and added 11 assists.
Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, and Bryn Forbes combined for 92 points and 18 assists, but it was not enough to overcome the defensive deficiencies.
Houston trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half before heating up from three-point range to surge to the victory. The win snapped a five-game losing streak. The victory was just the 16th of the season for the Rockets.
The Bucks have lost two of their last three games and will travel to Chicago to face the Bulls Friday night.
Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo left the game against the Houston Rockets with a right ankle sprain, just 46 seconds into the game. Giannis rolled his ankle on the foot of Kelly Olynyk on a driving layup. Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer said the team is optimistic that the injury is not serious.
