(WHBL) – If you’re 60 or older and your drivers license expired after March 12th of last year, then you have around 4 weeks before your current license renewal is due.
The DMV extended the renewal period to May 21st in order to help keep older drivers safe during the pandemic, but Kristina Boardman, an administrator with the Wisconsin DMV, says that vaccinations are now making it safe enough for those customers to visit a DMV to renew their license.
Most drivers age 60-64 can renew online, but that leaves about 27,000 drivers age 65 and older who will need to make an in-person visit to get the license, even after filling out an online application.
Details and other resources for aging drivers are available at wisconsindmv.gov/olderdrivers.
