Governor Evers has signed a nearly $8 million ($7.99M) contract to improve about 7-1/2 miles of I-43 from the south Sheboygan County line to Wilson/Lima Road, and work on the project begins Monday.
The highway will receive base patching, partial removal of the existing asphalt followed by a new 4” overlay, along with shoulder work, culvert extensions, beam guard adjustments, signing upgrades and pavement markings.
During the work, I-43 will remain open to one lane, and that’s expected to last until September 2nd.
Also approved is the resurfacing of Highway 32 between I-43 and Main Street in the Village of Cedar Grove. That project will require a full closure to do curb and gutter repairs, patch, and install a new overlay. The Union Pacific Railroad will also replace its crossing at that time. Work on that project will begin July 26th and also finishes up on September 2nd.
