A Sheboygan County resident in their 70s has become the 136th victim of COVID-19, while 11 more recovered as of Thursday’s COVID update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. 9 persons remain hospitalized. And with only 5 positive test returns received since Wednesday the active case count dropped 7 to 157. 13,595 persons here have had COVID-19 since the pandemic began over a year ago.
Wisconsin recorded 732 new cases of COVID-19 since Wednesday, upping the running total to 592,994. 4 more deaths were recorded, and the death toll now stands at 6,725. 53 more persons needed to be hospitalized for COVID-19, and after deaths and discharges are accounted for, the patient population dropped by 18 to 346. 116 COVID patients are in ICU beds, and ventilator use is up to 401, topping 400 for the first time since February 24th.
39.9% of Sheboygan County residents have now received at least one vaccine shot, and an even 29% have now been fully vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
